How campus food ordering works

CampusBytes is a food ordering platform built for one place: your campus. Instead of queueing at the canteen between classes, you order from the outlets already operating on campus and collect it at an approved campus delivery point.

Ordering as a student

  1. Create your student account

Register with your Student ID. We email you a verification code, and your campus admin approves the account. Registration is limited to students of a campus CampusBytes serves, so the outlet list you see is genuinely yours.

  2. Browse your campus outlets

See the outlets operating on your campus, each with its live menu, whether it is currently open, and its own preparation time. Veg and non-veg items are filterable, and the hostel mess menu is listed alongside the outlets.

  3. Place your order

Build your cart from a single outlet, choose an approved campus delivery point, and confirm. The outlet receives the order in its own dashboard and accepts it before preparation starts.

  4. Track it and collect

Order status updates as the outlet accepts, prepares and hands it over, and as a campus cart takes it out for delivery. You get the same updates as in-app and push notifications.

How campus outlets handle orders

Each outlet gets its own dashboard. Staff accept or reject incoming orders, mark them as preparing and then ready, and hand them to a campus cart for delivery. Outlets manage their own menu, item availability and opening state, so what students see reflects what the kitchen can actually make right now. Read more on listing your campus restaurant.

How universities fit in

The campus administration approves student accounts, approves which outlets operate on the platform, and defines the delivery points and zones that orders may be sent to. That keeps ordering inside the campus boundary rather than opening it to arbitrary external delivery. Talk to us about your campus.
